I am searching for an Android Bitcoin Cash Wallet that can import (or sweep) a private key (WIF) from a Bitcoin Core cold storage paper wallet.

SOLVED. The app "Coinomi" did the trick (not import, but sweep, which is ok for the low network fees...)
(btw, also works for BTG)
Any recommendations / tips?
Actually "import" would be preferred over "sweep", but since Tx Fees are so low with BCH, also "sweep" is acceptable for my use-case.
What I mean is entering (or sweeping) my own single private key* (legacy WIF format as we know it from paper wallets**), and NOT entering my own determinsistic 12-word-mnemonic seed.
For the following Bitcoin Core wallets I am aware that they support it - but I am looking for a Bitcoin Cash Wallet that can do the same:
The following Bitcoin Cash wallets cannot do it:
Oh - and I'd like to enter the private key manually via text, not via QR code scan, if possible (because I only have the private key ("5.....") in text form and don't want to convert it to one of those QR code generator online websites, for obvious reasons). (removed, because bitaddress.org used offline serves this purpose to convert priv key (text) to QR code)
PS: If anybody also knows about BTG for the same question, I'd be interested, too, obviously.

My android bitcoin wallet not seeing any coins when I go to sweep paper wallets anymore. Whats going on?

Hey /bitcoin, I'm not too active here but I check it now and again for the news. Wasn't sure where else to post this so I figured someone here might have an idea what's going on. So the last few weeks I have been betting on soccer games here and there using about 50 addresses I generated all at once. For the first 4-5 weeks it was going great and when I won a bet they'd dump coins into one of these accounts. So I'd do a sweep paper wallet in my android wallet, scan, see winnings, and sweep. But as of a few days ago when I go to sweep my winners, my android wallet is just showing 0. I got really worried and thought I lost $30 worth for a few, but downloaded electrum and recovered the coins that way. Is there a reason my android wallet isn't seeing coins properly? Am I doing something wrong?
TL;DR: Android Wallet (when I try to sweep a paper account) is seeing 0.00 mBTC when I know for a fact there are coins in the account. Most recent one I'm trying to sweep even has 28 confirms.
Thanks guys, any advice would be amazing!

How do I move bitcoin from paper wallet, to coinbase wallet on my android mobile device?

I didn't create this paper wallet, I was given it when I put money into a (Bitcoin ATM)[http://libertyteller.com/]. So I don't really understand anything about the paper wallet.
Using the coinbase wallet app I see the selection for "Request money". Under that I can enter the amount. And under that are "NFC", "QR Code", and "Email" selections.

making Bitcoin paper wallet on Android tablet

I am trying to transfer bitaddress, bitcoinpaperwallet or brainwallet.org to my Android tablet & hope to generate new wallets there. However, none of the 3 work on my Android tablet which has never been connected to the internet. i can understand there possibly being a problem with the first 2; maybe android doesn't support the 'moving dots', but surely brainwallet.org should work. When I type in a passphrase, nothing happens, all the other boxes remaiin empty, there's no public address oir private keys generated. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to rightify this?

Being a user of NANO for the past six months has made me change the way I think about digital money as a whole.

Having profound and prerequisite knowledge of cryptocurrency thanks to Bitcoin, I decided to download a faucet for Android to see the capabilities of the currency. When I downloaded that app and opened it, it gave me two options: NANO or Bitcoin?
Of course, I had to close the app to search up what NANO is. It is what it says, fast, fee-less, and eco-friendly. So I clicked on Nano. But then I thought: There's no way I'd be able to buy some load with that!
Yet I decided to try it out myself.
I earned a fair bit of NANO and before I knew it, I needed to make a wallet. So I got Natrium for Android and there lies my NANO, freshly withdrawn from the app. And it was fast, just a click, wait a few seconds and I get a notification from Natrium saying "You have received 0.03726 NANO"!
Now, I can buy local top-ups with NANO and other stuff. That's how I found out about NANO, and how I came to take it in as a kind of money when I don't have actual paper money.

Bitcoin Newcomers FAQ - Please read!

Welcome to the /Bitcoin Sticky FAQ

You've probably been hearing a lot about Bitcoin recently and are wondering what's the big deal? Most of your questions should be answered by the resources below but if you have additional questions feel free to ask them in the comments.
It all started with the release of the release of Satoshi Nakamoto's whitepaper however that will probably go over the head of most readers so we recommend the following videos for a good starting point for understanding how bitcoin works and a little about its long term potential:
Some other great resources include Lopp.net, the Princeton crypto series and James D'Angelo's Bitcoin 101 Blackboard series.
Some excellent writing on Bitcoin's value proposition and future can be found at the Satoshi Nakamoto Institute.
Some Bitcoin statistics can be found here and here. Developer resources can be found here. Peer-reviewed research papers can be found here.
Potential upcoming protocol improvements and scaling resources here and here.
The number of times Bitcoin was declared dead by the media can be found here (LOL!)

Key properties of Bitcoin

Where can I buy bitcoins?

Bitcoin.org and BuyBitcoinWorldwide.com are helpful sites for beginners. You can buy or sell any amount of bitcoin (even just a few dollars worth) and there are several easy methods to purchase bitcoin with cash, credit card or bank transfer. Some of the more popular resources are below, also check out the bitcoinity exchange resources for a larger list of options for purchases.
Here is a listing of local ATMs. If you would like your paycheck automatically converted to bitcoin use Bitwage.
Note: Bitcoins are valued at whatever market price people are willing to pay for them in balancing act of supply vs demand. Unlike traditional markets, bitcoin markets operate 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. Preev is a useful site that that shows how much various denominations of bitcoin are worth in different currencies. Alternatively you can just Google "1 bitcoin in (your local currency)".

Securing your bitcoins

With bitcoin you can "Be your own bank" and personally secure your bitcoins OR you can use third party companies aka "Bitcoin banks" which will hold the bitcoins for you.
Note: For increased security, use Two Factor Authentication (2FA) everywhere it is offered, including email!
2FA requires a second confirmation code to access your account making it much harder for thieves to gain access. Google Authenticator and Authy are the two most popular 2FA services, download links are below. Make sure you create backups of your 2FA codes.
Google Auth Authy OTP Auth
Android Android N/A
iOS iOS iOS

Watch out for scams

As mentioned above, Bitcoin is decentralized, which by definition means there is no official website or Twitter handle or spokesperson or CEO. However, all money attracts thieves. This combination unfortunately results in scammers running official sounding names or pretending to be an authority on YouTube or social media. Many scammers throughout the years have claimed to be the inventor of Bitcoin. Websites like bitcoin(dot)com and the btc subreddit are active scams. Almost all altcoins (shitcoins) are marketed heavily with big promises but are really just designed to separate you from your bitcoin. So be careful: any resource, including all linked in this document, may in the future turn evil. Don't trust, verify. Also as they say in our community "Not your keys, not your coins".

Where can I spend bitcoins?

Check out spendabit or bitcoin directory for millions of merchant options. Also you can spend bitcoin anywhere visa is accepted with bitcoin debit cards such as the CashApp card. Some other useful site are listed below.

Bitcoin Units

One Bitcoin is quite large (hundreds of £/$/€) so people often deal in smaller units. The most common subunits are listed below:
Unit Symbol Value Info
bitcoin BTC 1 bitcoin one bitcoin is equal to 100 million satoshis
millibitcoin mBTC 1,000 per bitcoin used as default unit in recent Electrum wallet releases
bit bit 1,000,000 per bitcoin colloquial "slang" term for microbitcoin (μBTC)
satoshi sat 100,000,000 per bitcoin smallest unit in bitcoin, named after the inventor
For example, assuming an arbitrary exchange rate of $10000 for one Bitcoin, a $10 meal would equal:

Danger: Be Careful with Samourai Wallet

The BIP39 derivation key from some versions looks like to be wrong. Previously, I had used the same paper backup to recover it (18 months ago) from an old phone that broke the screen.
Recently I migrated my phone (which bricked) to a new one. Both the backup and the BIP 39 did provide the same set of addresses.
I asked the Support, and for the second time (the first time I payed more than 300$ in fees due to a Replace by Fee order was called as a CPFP without my previous consensus), I had a terrible experience with them, they did not even reply explaining possible solutions.
The aforementioned explanation is what I suggest that happened due to some experience I have as developer.
Another thing I asked them was to provide to me the releases of the previous versions and they said they would not provide that on email. They suggest me to look at their github release (I believe I would be able to compile their project and try to create the Android Apk, but I did not try because it would surely consume time, and luckily I had the option to try with the old screen broken phone).
The repaired old phone had the software installed and configured, then, with the pin I was able to rescue the bitcoins.
In summary, from now on, I do not plan to use none of the softwares developed by them anymore. The communication is terrible and lost my credibility.
I understand that the software is not Beta but some core features should already be stable.
In this sense, it is surely hard to me to keep trusting in their team.
Use hardware or paper wallets (generate public keys offline and save them) if you want to hold as a reserve. If you have recommendation for a trustable Android one it would be good to hear.

Mistake when sending from paper wallet

I bought some bitcoin at a bitcoin ATM today. I'm fairly familiar with bitcoin, atleast the "modern" bitcoin process. However, I'm clueless when it comes to the oldschool coldstorage/offline/private wallets. The machine printed a paper wallet, and I took it home. I did some research trying to figure out how to get this bitcoin into an online wallet. I decided on Coinbox.orgs android app, and scanned my private key. It popped up as pending; I used a blockchain explorer to review the transaction, d1a5bba6f9084fb6fb5953905401bedc4502cade120593b8ddfa38fac6e85919. I noticed the fee was incredibly low, only 5 cents worth of bitcoin. Is there anything I can do to increase the fee? The app didn't give me any option to set the fee, I just scanned the QR code, and it did everything else. This is going to take days/weeks to confirm. I'm kind of bummed out. Thank you.

Is it necessary to use a hardware wallet?

From: https://www.reddit.com/BitcoinBeginners/comments/hzf6rm/are_the_available_hardware_wallets_really_secure/fzikihc
Not necessarily.
You don't need to keep your wallet loaded on your Android device. Don't use iPhone.
You can use your 12 word restore passphrase to load it on your device. Then when you're done, you can delete the app data and remove the private keys from your device. This turns your hot wallet into a cold wallet. The cold wallet is the paper with your 12 words written on it in pen.
Does it mean we can use the above method for cold wallet and no need to use hardware wallets (especially when the recent ledger hacking is getting worrisome incident)?

New England
New England 6 States Songs: https://www.reddit.com/newengland/comments/er8wxd/new_england_6_states_songs/
NewEnglandcoin
Symbol: NENG
NewEnglandcoin is a clone of Bitcoin using scrypt as a proof-of-work algorithm with enhanced features to protect against 51% attack and decentralize on mining to allow diversified mining rigs across CPUs, GPUs, ASICs and Android phones.
Mining Algorithm: Scrypt with RandomSpike. RandomSpike is 3rd generation of Dynamic Difficulty (DynDiff) algorithm on top of scrypt.
1 minute block targets base difficulty reset: every 1440 blocks subsidy halves in 2.1m blocks (~ 2 to 4 years) 84,000,000,000 total maximum NENG 20000 NENG per block Pre-mine: 1% - reserved for dev fund ICO: None RPCPort: 6376 Port: 6377
NewEnglandcoin has dogecoin like supply at 84 billion maximum NENG. This huge supply insures that NENG is suitable for retail transactions and daily use. The inflation schedule of NengEnglandcoin is actually identical to that of Litecoin. Bitcoin and Litecoin are already proven to be great long term store of value. The Litecoin-like NENG inflation schedule will make NewEnglandcoin ideal for long term investment appreciation as the supply is limited and capped at a fixed number
Bitcoin Fork - Suitable for Home Hobbyists
NewEnglandcoin core wallet continues to maintain version tag of "Satoshi v0.8.7.5" because NewEnglandcoin is very much an exact clone of bitcoin plus some mining feature changes with DynDiff algorithm. NewEnglandcoin is very suitable as lite version of bitcoin for educational purpose on desktop mining, full node running and bitcoin programming using bitcoin-json APIs.
The NewEnglandcoin (NENG) mining algorithm original upgrade ideas were mainly designed for decentralization of mining rigs on scrypt, which is same algo as litecoin/dogecoin. The way it is going now is that NENG is very suitable for bitcoin/litecoin/dogecoin hobbyists who can not , will not spend huge money to run noisy ASIC/GPU mining equipments, but still want to mine NENG at home with quiet simple CPU/GPU or with a cheap ASIC like FutureBit Moonlander 2 USB or Apollo pod on solo mining setup to obtain very decent profitable results. NENG allows bitcoin litecoin hobbyists to experience full node running, solo mining, CPU/GPU/ASIC for a fun experience at home at cheap cost without breaking bank on equipment or electricity.

Research on the first forked 50 blocks on v1.2.0 core confirmed that ASIC/GPU miners mined 66% of 50 blocks, CPU miners mined the remaining 34%.
NENG v1.4.0 release enabled CPU mining inside android phones.

We know a coin is worth nothing if there is no backing from community. Therefore, we as dev do not intend to make decision on this coin solely by ourselves. It is our expectation that NewEnglandcoin community will make majority of decisions on direction of this coin from now on. We as dev merely view our-self as coin creater and technical support of this coin while providing NENG a permanent home at ShorelineCrypto Exchange.

ASIC/GPU Mining Pools Warning to Big ASIC Miners Due to DynDiff Algo on top of Scrypt, solo mining is recommended for ASIC/GPU miners. Further more, even for mining pools, small mining pool will generate better performance than big NENG mining pool because of new algo v1.2.x post hard fork.
The set up configuration of NENG for scrypt pool mining is same as a typical normal scrypt coin. In other word, DynDiff on Scrypt algo is backward compatible with Scrypt algo. Because ASIC/GPU miners rely on CPU miners for smooth blockchain movement, checkout bottom of "Latest News" section for A WARNING to All ASIC miners before you decide to dump big ASIC hash rate into NENG mining.
(1) Original DynDiff Warning: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5027091.msg48324708#msg48324708 (2) New Warning on RandomSpike Spike difficulty (244k) introduced in RandomSpike served as roadblocks to instant mining and provide security against 51% attack risk. However, this spike difficulty like a roadblock that makes big ASIC mining less profitable. In case of spike block to be mined, the spike difficulty immediately serve as base difficulty, which will block GPU/ASIC miners effectively and leave CPU cheetah solo miners dominating mining almost 100% until next base difficulty reset.

Is this a stupid idea?

I'm planning on buying some bitcoin and not selling any of it for about 3-5 years, i don't want to buy a hardware wallet, so i'll transfer my bitcoin to an electrum wallet, copy the 12 word seed phrase to a paper safely stored in my house, and then i'll completely uninstall electrum from my computer, because i have had terrible experiences with keyloggers and malware in the past, i'm afraid the same thing can happen with electrum. This way the only "connection" that will exist with my bitcoin is the 12 word phrase that i have on paper. Is this a good, terrible, or just stupid idea?

On F-Droid apps and bitcoin donations

The recent post on FOSS android apps and how they can earn money made me curious about their bitcoin donations, so I slapped together a quick script, grabbed the donation addresses from the F-Droid metadata and queried their total received amount.
The result, sorted by total received and valued using some value of today (9366.36 EUR per BTC)

Package address total EUR
